New Addition

HELLO Ginger! The girls' early bday present. She's a labradoodle. She had ALL the criteria momma was looking for

1) pretty white, tan color
2) curly poodle hair (for poppa's allergies)
3) medium build, will be 40-45 lbs grown (for protection)
4) GREAT social personality (to deal w/the girls' craziness)
5) a puppy-- only 10wks old (for the cat's comfort)

her name, Ginger is for:
1) her color (like the cat's name: Red)
2) in memory of Eric's childhood dog, Dinko (named after the tree)
3) it sounds asian-ish (like momma)

she is like a newborn baby. the first night she woke up every 3hrs, lonely and upset, so we moved her into our bedroom and after 2 nights, she's happy in her crate and even at awakening will play quietly until let out.
like a newborn, she is more work, as least for momma (hence the abscence from the blog). Ginger is up at 6AM. she goes potty while momma waters the plants (she is 100% night trained, she'll hold it until morning and 80% day trained, as long as she's let out at regular 1hr intervals---such a good smart girl!).
By the time the girls are awake at 7:30AM, Ginger's been fed, exercised and gone potty a 2nd time. But she's worth it. Like a newborn, she is pure innocence and affection--- but who will never truly grow up!
the girls are still warming up to her, she is secondary to their relationship. but in time, i'm sure all three will be inseparable. and poodles can live up to 15-20 yrs, lots of time for bonding! who wouldnt love love such a cute dog!
