How come they didnt have these when I was a kid?

the girls celebrated with their cousin lotus, who's bday is just right before theirs over the wkend. and since aunt alice was in town, it was one big family get-togehter.

did the girls score big time. courtesy of gramma, ck out their upgraded, pumped-up, barbie-pink power wheels. and how freaking cute is lotus' vintage, convertible pink cadillac?

vienna bounced until we were called in for cake. dare-devil laurel went down the giantic slide all by herself, giggling all the way down (well, maybe poppa & momma *gently pushed* her just alittle :-)

Father's Day 2008

we did our traditional father's day hike, this year at riverbend park in great falls. it's the only ffx county waterfront park. there's also a marina for boating and fishing, but i'm not a big fan of the potamac (icky) waters. thou the water views are always nice--- great spot for a picnic.

the highlight of the hike was probably the tadpole pond (other than the perfect serenity of the trail). literally the little garden pond was swimming w/hundreds of tadpoles. eric scooped up a few in his palm to show the girls--- (down & dirty dads are the best!); and they kept sayin 'more, more'. after three, 'last time', we had to drag vienna away, bawling.

afterwards, we had a fantastic brunch. well, at least eric & i enjoyed the spread. the girls were too busy watching 'boy', 'girl' and 'baby'. smartly, the staff seated all the kids in a corner nook. there was alot of staring btwn the tables. kids are funny, people-watching already.

it was a good day, i think eric had fun too (-: happy father's day, baby!

gettin our spray on at fairfax corner's fountain. aunt louise met up w/us for a friday night out--- conveniently she works right around the corner from the corner.

a nice dinner (pf chang's carry out) in the courtyard , watching the kids romp around (tho, dont be fooled, they barely got close enough for a mist)--- our own happy hour to end the work week.

Chillin by the Pool

nothing too exciting this wkend, other than trying to stay cool

Our Neighbor, Mr. Turtle

Mr. Turtle and his family are back again this year. They live in our backyard, surviving the dangerous lawnmower. Laurel was skittish, like usual. Tho, she's very rough with the little critters; worms and ants, she destroys.

Vienna slowly warmed up to him. Which is good, cause momma's paying good money for these people to come out for their birthday party in july.

Potty updates: Laurel started potty training over memorial day wkend and is doing very well (much better than momma expected). she doesnt resist the potty (so stressfree), she loves the candy rewards and will sit and squeeze out a drop for the hoopla.

she will say poo-poo but not pee-pee, so we have to remind her every 1/2 or so to go--- unlike vienna who only needs to go very 2hours!

with diapers at only sleeptime, taking out the garbage has been less work, not to mention less waste & $$$... it's all good!
